We remember the time we spent by the Danube in Budapest fondly. This city is magical and worth seeing. We liked it so much that we definitely want to go back there again and sail boat along the river. We encourage you to follow this direction and visit it by yourself ;) Read how we spend some time in Budapest on a budget.
One Afternoon in Budapest
We visited Budapest because we had a transfer in this city when we travelled to Dubai. Normally we would spend there at least the whole one day or two days. But still we are happy that we could see some attractions of Budapest :) We have to admit that it was a real trip on a budget.
We stayed in a hostel that was very close to the Museum of Terror and we regret that we couldn’t visit it but it was closed at the time of our stay :(
That’s why we started from visiting St. Stephen’s Basilica – one of the major attractions in Budapest. The structure is rather big and made an impression on us. The whole square, on which the Basilica is placed, is a nice place to visit and take a walk and have a rest.
After that we headed towards the Parliament of Budapest and we passed the Chain Bridge. It takes really long time to walk from one side to the other side of the Bridge. That’s because the river Danube, that flows under it, is extremely broad. The Parliament can be discerned from the bridge (that is very striking) and in general the views are amazing.
When we finally got to the other side of the bridge, we could focus our attention on the beautiful Parliament. We were lucky because we got there when it was getting darker so we could observe the Parliament both during the daylight and when it was illuminated. It’s an amazing place and it’s definitely worth-seeing. But at that point we finished sightseeing the beautiful Budapest. We saw a lot but we’d love to spend some more time in this city :)
